Plea from families of Seaman Guard Ohio guards ahead of PM’s visit to India
Below is a link to the BBC Victoria Live and the piece about the plight of the Seaman Guard Ohio crew ahead of Theresa May’s visit to India next week. Shows the cost of the continued incarceration on the families. Six ex-UK servicemen remain in Chennai central prison. They are part of the 35 men locked up in January following their original arrest in October 2013. Sadly the Ukraine master has been hospitalised and is seriously ill adding to the stress on his family who can not afford to get to India to be with him. That again puts a spotlight on the readiness of coastal states to criminalise crew for doing their jobs. We at Tatham & Co remain committed to help the men as part of our pro bono initiative.
