Bribery Act

The UK Bribery Act 2010 has given the  UK  one of the most robust  anti-corruption regimes in the world. Most understand its scope and reach but shipping throws up some unique challenges particularly in parts of the world where scrutiny on payments is much more lax.

The UK Bribery Act does give a defence where companies have comprehensive protocols not only for the themselves but also for their business partners and correspondents. We work with clients to examine these and to ensure that where payments are demanded that you are not exposed to action under UK legislation.
