Ship and crew management

If you are a shipowner it is likely that you will have in place crewing and management contracts. We have a great deal of experience of dealing with both contentious and non-contentious issues arising from the use of the common management contracts and indeed the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 which is now an important regulatory tool governing employment of crew.

Ship management covers the whole range of what we do as lawyers from resolving claims arising out of such things as charterparties, crew injuries and contracts of carriage. It also covers the wider problems arising out of pooling agreements and registration of ships.

We have the commercial experience to negotiate management contracts and help you find the right degree of risk that you are prepared to take on. If you do find yourselves in a conflict with your counter party in a ship management contract we are well placed to help.
