Insurance underpins all shipping and offshore activity and issues can arise after a claim has arisen where underwriters raise issues on coverage for unseaworthiness, breach of warranty, towage warranty non-compliance or arising from pre-placing presentation.
We are often called on to review coverage issues for both insurers and their insured. Our experience in complex environments means that we are used to working with insurers to resolve political impasses to seek the release of a vessel detained in a difficult jurisdiction. We have been involved in large war and hull claims on behalf of various stakeholders arising out of piracy, maritime casualties and capture at sea.
